Kete Ora Trust was a proud Gold Sponsor of OANZ’s 2025 Organic Sector Report entitled Organic: New Zealand’s High-value, Low-impact Advantage (PDF, 7.96 MB). The report, representing the most comprehensive snapshot of Aotearoa’s organic sector to date, was launched at Parliament on 4 June, and received its online launch the next day. OANZ plans to use this resource to drive conversations with policymakers, media, and industry throughout the year. The rich data in the report backs up calls to government and business to see organics not as niche, but as a core part of Aotearoa’s climate action plan and economic strategy.
Trustee Logie Mackenzie was at both launches (pictured below at Parliament), where he introduced the Kete Ora Trust and the focus of our work, and thanked the team at OANZ for the huge amount of work they do on behalf of the Organic Sector. Logie stressed the importance of transitioning more land to organic production systems as a strategic, future-focused move to increase export value and to protect our land, along with educating consumers on the multi-layered benefits of purchasing organically- and biodynamically-grown produce. “Kete Ora is here to held make that possible and at scale. The 2025 Market Report is one critical part of the picture to show the true value of the organic sector, its growth and relevance within our agrcultural and horticultural productions systems in Aotearoa.”
